High blood pressure also called ‘Hypertension’.

It happens when the force of the blood pumping through your arteries is too strong.

When heart pushes blood through arteries to the rest of the body against the walls of arteries is harder, then blood pressure goes up.

It is a medical condition in which the blood pressure in the arteries is persistently elevated.

Usually hypertension is defined as blood pressure above 140/90.

High blood pressure often has no symptoms.

If untreated, it can cause Heart Disease, Stroke, Coronary Artery Disease, Heart Failure, Peripheral Vascular Disease, Vision loss, and Chronic Kidney Disease etc.

Eating a healthier diet with less salt (DASH), exercising regularly and taking medications can help lower blood pressure.
